My guess is the people who hate on Inge are the same people responsible for Arrested Development getting cancelled. They just don't get it.

Like an awful lot of movies, it's still in pre-production. Mitch Hurwitz has the script, and it's all about signing on the dotted line basically.

Why do I even bother? This movie is turning into an X-Files "I Want To Believe" thing.

I'll just keep singing 'Here We Go Again' to myself.

No, but it is how the Arrested Development players get back at Fox.

" When asked by an audience member if viewers of Running Wilde could expect the same sort of foreshadowing they saw in Arrested, Hurwitz answered with a cryptic "If I say yes, wouldn't I be doing exactly what Fox told me not to do?"

"Arrested Development didn't work in the ratings because of its complexity, so we have to bury that," Hurwitz said."

My prediction is each episode will include a buried homage to AD.

So far we have:
-the "made a huge mistake" moment in the Pilot
-the treehouse in the last week's episode

Instead of AD's multi-variant story lines and triple entendre jokes, Mitch and crew have dumbed the new show down and focus on the one story line. Basically taking the GOB and George Bluth relationship storyline and turning it into a show. The Switch Hitter episode expanded for the masses in other words.

Are you surprised at the passion people have for Arrested Development, so long after it went off the air?

Ron: I’m gratified by it. From the very first conversations with Mitch Hurwitz, I was passionate about it and always frustrated that the broad audiences weren’t there to really sustain it on network television. But, it’s been incredibly gratifying. You’re always a little surprised when something really takes off.

Ron: Mitch Hurwitz is working on a story on script. He would direct it. Everyone is hoping. We’re not going to go through with anything we don’t think is up to the standards.

Ron: No clue. I have no clue as to who’s in it or what the storyline is, but every time I get together with Mitch, he gives me these fragments and they’re all hilarious.

Fast Company Does Not 'Get' 30 Rock And This Is Why Arrested Development Faield

Yes, they did. But it was no different than when AD went over the top with their Burger King placement. I'm surprised that the writer missed this. But then not surprised that Arrested Development was cancelled.

No, 30 Rock Is Not Arrested Development.

But it can be in the same ballpark with it and that is the best compliment. For example, other people report on the longing to have something fill the void left by Arrested Development as attested by a Google search for "the new Arrested Development" and most people say "30 Rock".

Hulu is removing Arrested Development seasons 1 and 2.

The article speculates that this is being done to drive DVD sales of Seasons 2 and 3. I disagree - this move seems more in line with Hulu offering paid subscriptions (currently in testing) and FOX's Murdoch love of paywalls to his properties.

Fortunately, shortly after AD was canceled syndication rights were sold to MSN. And because of that every episode is available at ArrestedDevelopment.msn.com.

A warning to FOX, content wants to be free. Removing dearly loved content like this will only drive your audience to other outlets.

While reading this update is certainly good news for Arrested Development fans, there's one catch. Word on the street is that one of the original cast members hasn't signed on to do the film and may not participate at all. Though sources aren't naming names, many are pointing their fingers to Michael Cera, who played young George Michael Bluth, as he was previously quoted as saying the film wasn't being made and shouldn't be made.

Jason Bateman and David Cross still obviously enjoy playing their characters from AD. And even though Bateman is supposed to be promoting a new movie Keith shows AD clips.

Simpsons + AD = Comedy Gold?
